		<description>Having grown up in the US, I love the space and privacy.  However, the excessiveness in terms of waste when it comes to food and things is mindless.  The deeper issue may be fear.  Fear of not having enough, of being seen as inferior or miserly, I don&#039;t know.

		<description>I totally agree with you: the humongous portions of food, the massive cars, generously wide roads, all these and more took a lot of getting used to when I first arrived in the US as a student back in the 90&#039;s.  I don&#039;t like it, though.  This unthinking excessiveness is a symptom of deeper issues, methinks!</description>
